Cavalleria Rusticana (Mascagni, Pietro)

Date of recording: Monday, 27/02/1905

I have received a considerable number of direct transfers of original 78 records from a friend. They have been digitized directly from his original 78 records. The recording quality is mostly very good - some unavoidable needle noise is present, of course.

Recorded in New York with piano.

The fantastic breath control makes this a great record. The recording quality of these marvelous 1905 performances is superior to those with orchestra made the following year and they get closer to Caruso.

yes, breath control is remarkable. I also have this on single-sided G&T.
Always find the last note uncomfortable though! There are a few high notes Enrico seems to have trouble with on other recordings. He's the singer I always go to for sheer pleasure.
